Give Us Your Best Shot!
Photography Contest
All of us in The University of Texas at El Paso family celebrate our recognition as one of the most beautiful university campuses in the United States. UTEP's setting in the foothills of the Franklin Mountain, our signature "Border Bhutanese" architecture and our Chihuahuan Desert landscaping contribute to the attractiveness of our surroundings. We are all well aware of the privilege of studying and working in such a beautiful place. The tender loving care provided to our buildings and grounds by Facilities Services personnel, and the environmental stewardship of students, faculty, and staff reflect our collective pride in our UTEP campus.
Although our pride in UTEP is collective, each of us has a special vantage point from which we appreciate the beauty of our campus. We approach the campus via a variety of directions, we work in different buildings, we enjoy different views from our windows, and we move from one building to another along different pathways and at different times of the day. In other words, each of us has a unique set of perspectives from which we enjoy the beauty of UTEP.
To capture these personal views of our beautiful campus, UTEP announced a juried photography contest, "My UTEP - The University of Texas at El Paso in Photos," for students, faculty, staff and alumni. Cash awards of $500, $300 and $100 were given to the top three winners selected from photos taken with cameras, and cash awards of $300 and $100 were given to the top two winners in the cell phone photo category. Images entered in the contest will be exhibited in various locations on the UTEP campus.
