"Your goal is not to foresee the future, it is to enable it." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Since 1914, the University of Texas at El Paso has helped build El Paso’s future.

In 2004 we asked El Paso to help create a vision for UTEP in 2014, our 100th anniversary.

One hundred leaders from this community and across the nation accepted the challenge. They served as members of UTEP’s Centennial Commission and examined the opportunities and challenges before us.

In November 2005, we shared the Commission’s report with the community. It details long-range goals for UTEP and recommends strategies to achieve them.

In November 2006, we issued our first update on progress made by the University in response to the Commission’s recommendations.

Once again, UTEP is indebted to the people of El Paso for their vision and support, just as we were in 1914.
